“I am the master of my thoughts.”

Recently, when I was tuned in to Gelli on the Gravey on RX 93.1, Gelli suggested to the listeners to pick up a book entitled The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. I decided to get a copy. At first, I was expecting The Secret to be all about God and how he is going to save us all from eternal torture in Hell. Good thing it wasn’t.

The Secret is about The Law of Attraction. Yes, The Law of Attraction. All the greatest people in history knew The Secret: Plato, Shakespeare, Newton, Hugo, Beethoven, Lincoln, Emerson, Edison, and Einstein. And now, The Secret is revealed to the world.

The Law of Attraction goes like this: whatever you think and feel will be yours. Easy, right? Yes it is. You just have to treat the whole universe as a catalog wherein you can order anything you want- as long as you believe it’s yours. One good analogy could be ordering from a fastfood store, once you order, you know you’ll get it, you just have to wait. Doubt can’t be in your heart when you order something from the catalog of the universe. It’s like you ordered for a car from a company but you had doubts, so you ordered for another one. In other words, like attracts like.

You hate, you receive hate. You love, you get love. Easy.

What the book really teaches is to get the negative thoughts off your mind. The Law of Attraction knows no negatives, so if you say “I’m not gonna be poor,” you’re bound to become poor. Instead, say “I’m gonna be rich.”

I’m a really pessimistic person, but this book can really change the way you think. I have actually experienced The Law of Attraction in action just this morning, I swear.

I can’t really discuss the whole book here, but I will share some of the things I have highlighted in the book. I strongly suggest you pick this book up.

Some Highlights:

  • The Great Secret of Life is the law of attraction.
  • Our feelings let us know what we’re thinking.
  • You see, you can have whatever you want in your life, no limits. But there’s one catch: You have to feel good.
  • “Life is so easy! Life is so good! All good things come to me!”
  • Be like a child and make-believe.
  • Anyone that ever accomplished everything, did not know hoe they were going to do it. They only knew they were going to do it.
  • You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.
  • We tend to fight everything we don’t want, which actually creates more of a fight.
  • Mother Teresa was brilliant. She said, “I will never attend an anti-war rally. If you have a peace rally, invite me.”
  • Most psychologists believe that about 85% of families are dysfunctional, so all of a sudden, you’re not so unique.
