Jive Records has decided to release a new version of American Idol Season 8 finalist Allison Iraheta’s third single, Don’t Waste The Pretty from her debut album, Just Like You. This time getting a boost from Aussie guitar sensation, Orianthi. Allison, together with Orianthi, will also be the opening acts of Adam Lambert’s Glam Nation tour scheduled to start later this week.

Orianthi is still the same Ori we love, adding great guitar riffs on this version. I would’ve really loved to see her sing a couple of lines, though. Although this probably won’t be the song that will skyrocket Allison to fame and success, the track still manages to pull itself together and will hopefully become a regularly played track on the radio.

The weak chart performance of her two previous singles, Friday I’ll Be Over You and Scars, is probably caused by the lack of teens who actually listen to her music because of her teen-pop competitors. Personally, I wanted Pieces to be her third single, but with the inclusion of Orianthi in this track, I know Jive Records made the right decision. Ally and Ori, you guys rock.

Don’t Waste  The Pretty featuring Orianthi is set to be released on June 8.
