With his hit Nothin’ on You, B.o.B does it again with another smash hit, Airplanes. The track Airplanes is a collaboration between B.o.B. and Paramore’s vocalist, Hayley Williams. The punk-pop band Paramore is usually known for giving energetic performances, but for this song, Hayley mellows it out a bit.
The song starts with Hayley Williams’ angsty vocal which gives the song a somewhat dark and mysterious feel. Williams’ vocals adds an edge that’s more than Hiphop to the song. B.o.B. then dishes out his rapping skills for the verses- which he does excellently. Unlike some rappers, B.o.B. doesn’t sound annoying when he raps. The combination of Williams’ melodic vocals and B.o.B.’s rapping turns out as a great combination.
I’m not a big fan of R&B and Rap, but this song is just great. Just like real airplanes, this song takes flight and soars high up- in the charts, that is. If you haven’t got the chance to listen to this song yet, you better do because you’re missing out on a really great song.
